Play Theraphy
Play has been proven to help children explore their feelings, process their experiences and reach their full potential.
Because the brain keeps growing and forming new neural links, positive experiences can help heal trauma and improve other conditions – including autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, anxiety and depression – by improving neural integration. One of the most effective ways to provide that positive support for children is through non-verbal activities – like play.
Children use the language of play to express themselves. Play may be initiated with materials such as paint, paper, clay, sand and miniature toys or figurines. Play therapy is an effective tool in assisting children and families who have experienced any of the following issues:
Social difficulties
Adjustment to separation and divorce
Children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Anger and aggression
Sibling rivalry
Worry and anxiety
Self-esteem and identity issues
